Water and Exercise

What I know about Water

I know water keeps every part of the body working properly.

I know we all lose water throughout the day through our breath, sweat, urine, and bowel movements.

I know we need to replace this lost water to stay healthy.

I know if we don’t get enough water, we could become dehydrated and get very sick.

I know some of the experts say that women need about 11 cups of water per day and men need about 15 cups.

I know some doctors think that sickness can be prevented with more water intake.

I know the most important factor for survival after air, water, salt, and food is EXERCISE.

I know I don’t drink enough water each day.

I know I can drink enough water daily

What I know about Exercise

I know exercise expands the vascular system in the muscle tissue and prevents hypertension.

I know exercise opens the capillaries in the muscle tissue and by lowering the resistance to blood low in the arterial systems, cause the blood pressure to drop to normal.

I know exercise builds up muscle mass and prevents muscles being broken down as fuel.

I know exercise stimulates the activity of fat-burning enzymes for the manufacture of constantly needed energy for muscle activity.

I know exercise makes muscles burn some amino acids the would otherwise reach toxic levels and cause you a lot of grief.

I know when you lose muscle mass from being sedentary, you lose certain minerals such as zinc and vitamin B6 which your definitely need for brain health.

I know exercise lowers your blood sugar keeping insulin levels constant.

I know exercise compels the liver to make sugar from the fat that it stores.

I know that exercises increases your bone density thus keeping you more mobile.

I know that most people don’t appreciate the value of exercise as a “second” heart pushing the blood in your legs upward toward your “1st” heart.

I know that exercise increases the production of endorphins and enkephalins, the natural opiates of the body which produce the positive “high” that keep you feeling young.
